June 14, 2008 | TROUT TRIATHLON - RIDE, EAT, PARADE Ride will be out and back. The goal is to ride for as many miles as you can do in one hour with fellow cyclists. The course will be on a relatively flat road.
Starts at 10:00 at the shop with a cup of java. Riders rendez-vous at 11:00 for guilt free brunch at Flower Power Bakery. And then come into town to watch the Annual Trout Parade, listen to live music, eat and shop! |

June 21, 2008 TWO EVENTS | WALNUT MOUNTAIN MOUNTAIN BIKE DUATHLON - 5K, 10M, 5K TRIANDUIT is sponsoring another event - this time a short distance run, bike, run at Walnut Mountain. Relay or individual entry. COUNTRY ROAD TOUR - features 3 different lengths - 5 Mile, 15 Mile, and 25 Mile An additional map will be provided to riders who want to take a longer (65 mile) ride out further into Sullivan County. All riders will be given a map, a official Liberty Bike Trail T-Shirt, and a ticket to get a Free lunch provided by LibertyBikeTrail.org and LoCascio's Gourmet Foods of Liberty. Your registration is also good for 1 ticket in our raffle. Event will have 3 live bands performing, rental bikes, food and festivities! Flat as you can get East of the Shawagunks from Bloomingburg to New Paltz (lunch), ride by the historic D&H Canal and O&W RR region of Rosendale (made famous by the quality cement produced there for use in the Washington Monument & other historic architecture) and Kingston (2nd lunch - why not?) back to New Paltz (an ice cream? or beer?) and home. Great distant views of the mountains (yeah - they look wonderful when you're not climbing on them!) and all the regions historic little homes enroute. |

Despite most train lines going by the wayside back in the 1950's, this section remained active as a scenic train ride. And this bike ride validates it's existence. You'll experience the splendor of the Catskills with no obstructions (like car doors or roofs - ick!). Imagine rolling along with wide open views of glorious tree covered mountains surrounding you. Terrain has a few steady grade hills, some rolling sections and long flat runs. TRAIN RIDE & EATS: Afterwards grab a quick lunch "to go" or eat with us at the Cafe de Paris. The Arkville Stations hosts rides taking in different mountain vistas for a 1 3/4 hour round trip ride. * Trains depart 11:00 a.m. and and 2:00 p.m. at a Nominal Cost.

| TOUR DE SQUEAK (follow the Color Series #1) "Squeaky Toys Optional" but highly desirable! We'll take you rolling through the Catskill mountains dressed in fall colors, past farms, shaded streams, and a Covered Bridge. The slightly rolling 10 and 30 mile course traverses quiet back roads along the Beaverkill and past the ruins of Craige Claire Castle. The 50 mile ride climbs up several mountains with long descents and passes the historic 200 year old Kenoza Stone Arch Bridge. DUE TO FLOOD DAMAGE THE 10 & 30 MILE ROUTES ARE CANCELLED. Oct 11, 2008 10:00 am | FAMILY FALL BICYCLING DAY Walnut Mountain Pearson Park, Liberty LibertyBikeTrail.org is proud to present its Fall Bicycling Day at Walnut Mountain/Pearson Park in the town of Liberty on Saturday October 11th. The bicycling day is a family event for all ages and skill levels to come out and enjoy a day of bicycling on some of the best trails available in Sullivan County. Enjoy the fall foliage and the sound of rustling leaves under your tires as you explore this 265 acre park. $10 discount bicycle rentals will be available on site from Cinder Track Bicycles of Livingston Manor NY. Free coffee and hot chocolate will be available along with low cost healthy snacks from Pepacton Natural Foods. Bring the entire family our and enjoy a beautiful day of Mountain biking in the Town of Liberty. The event start at 10am. Trail maps are available on site courtesy of the Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Department. There is a playground available at the park for those younger riders.
